This laboratory manual of human anatomy and physiology is designed to serve both the health related professions student and the general biology student. A first course in anatomy and physiology will provide these students an opportunity to mature in a laboratory science which isboth interesting and relevant to their career goarls: a prerequisite course in chemistry and /or physic is not required. After using this laboratory manual,students should beginto view their bodies,in helth and disease,as a total functioning unit and not simply as a group of isolated bones,organs and assorted chemical reactions. We have made a sincere effort to correlate the exercises in this manual with the clinical experiences that many of the students will encounter in the future. Hence,it is felt that the manual should retain its value throughout most of the students professional curriculum. Each exercise Includes : A. A Comprehensive list of learning Objectives. B. A list of Materials Needed by the students to complete the excercise. C. A Discussion of the anatomical,Physiological and clinical principles required to understana and achieve each of the objectives. D. A Procedure, augmented with numerous illustrations,photographs,diagram an tables to assist the student in completing each exercise to a level of competency determined by by the instructor. E. A Results and questions section for recording data and to assist the students in drawing desired conclusfons. F. A Questions for review section to assist students in detemining whether they have satisfactorily met each of the stated objectives.
