The Indonesian Demographic Health Survey (SDKI) recorded that the MMR in Indonesia was 359/100,000 live births in 2012. (Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, 2012), one of the efforts to accelerate the reduction of MMR is by providing competent and professional midwives, who are responsible to the public, and have an understanding of the philosophy of women-centered care midwifery care which is firmly embedded in a midwife.
