Penanggulangan keracunan akut
The management and management of patients with acutterus poisoning is becoming an increasing part of the workload of emergency departments around the world. It is therefore important to have guidelines that are quickly available and up to date, especially in view of the increasing complexity of treatment and the continuing increase in over-dosing of drug mixtures. We have made every effort to present such guidelines in this fourth edition. To that end it has undergone the most thorough revision since its first edition in 1967. In response to many requests we have rewritten and expanded the main introductory chapters to provide a comprehensive background for first-time investigators of acute poisoning and perhaps a refresher for others. The reference lists in most chapters have also been expanded with additional reference lists where needed. In this way we hope that this book will provide a useful introduction towards more comprehensive poisoning publications. We have considered many reviews of previous editions, and from these and information from the publisher, it appears that the presentation and composition of the print in these editions has been quite acceptable. From this point of view, we have adopted a rather dogmatic approach, especially with regard to the presentation of clinical symptoms and the management of specific poisonings.
