Pencegahan Dan Pengawasan Anemia Defisiensi Besi

Both the understanding of the epidemiology of iron-deficiency anemia and the techniques for its prevention and surveillance have evolved considerably in recent years. Until now, there have been relatively few examples of the application of this knowledge to the development and implementation of comprehensive surveillance strategies. Better yet, there is a wealth of evidence, based on national-scale experience in many settings, that suggests that primary health care services can promote the most practical ways to incorporate this new knowledge and understanding in reducing the prevalence of anemia. The Joint WHO/UNICEF Nutrition Support Programme is actively improving the nutritional status of children and mothers through primary health care in 18 countries.The Support Programme has generated knowledge related to the practical aspects of integrating health services at different organizational levels to achieve nutrition programme goals. In this context, the program has sponsored the publication of this book, which was written to help health supervisors and program managers develop suitable strategies for preventing and monitoring iron deficiency anemia through primary health care. Our sincere thanks go to the people of Italy through their Government, and the Joint Program on Nutrition Assistance, for making this book possible.
