According to the World Organization Health (WHO), maternity nursing is a form of professional nursing service aimed at women of childbearing age (WUS) related to the reproductive system, pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum, between two pregnancies and newborns up to 40 days old, along with their families, focusing on fulfilling basic needs in adapting physically and psychosocially to achieve family welfare using the nursing process approach. To carry out this responsibility, the maternity nursing specialist education program is a study program aimed at producing professional maternity nursing specialists who have responsibilities and accountability who are expected to play an active role in overcoming women's health problems in Indonesia. In this case, maternity nurses have the competence to assist in childbirth, but do not have the authority to assist in childbirth. However, according to Article 30 paragraph 1 letter g of the Nursing Law, it is stated that nurses are authorized to provide emergency action according to their competence.
