Inferensi multikausa depresi postpartum dan laktasi
The conceptual framework between breastfeeding and postpartum depression remains unclear. According to findings from various studies, the relationship between breastfeeding behavior and postpartum depression may be reciprocal. The role of neuroendocrine and biopsychosocial interactions in the lactation process and postpartum depression remains controversial and requires in-depth analysis. Several causal debates require empirical clarification: which qualifies as a cause and which qualifies as an effect. The focus of this discussion is whether depressed mothers will fail to breastfeed and/or maintain lactation long-term? Or, are breastfeeding mothers guaranteed to avoid depression if they maintain lactation? This book aims to address these two debates by exploring: first, the neurological and biochemical aspects of postpartum depression in relation to lactation; second, determining the direction of the multi-causal framework between risk factors for postpartum depression and lactation; and third, formulating practical recommendations regarding early detection and the dosage of lactation that provides a protective effect against postpartum depression.
