Human Resource Planning A Business Planing Approach
This bookwas written in response to a need. For a number of years I have Felt that human resource planning lacked a clear definition. It has been many things to many people-all different. Without a clear definition, research and sharing of ideas derived from practice are dissipated and lack fokus. This book is an attempt to structure and shape a body of material that will neet the needs of students and practitioners of the field. In writting the book. I have had to be inventive: The needed material had not been developed and i had to fill thegaps with my own ideas. I tust the reader will find this book a useful begining toward an in creased understanding of the field and its potensial. I want to acknowledge the help of some indispensable people-I could not have written the book without their help. My wife. Joanne, has been a continual partner in this task. She has been sometimee co-outhor,counsummate editor, and constructive critic. She was answerving in her belief that we could do it. My coleague at Drexel, Paul Kesler, has been taskmaster, reviewer of theenire manuscript, and always opimistic even when he had to read some very rough first drafts.
