The first printing of Principles of Pulmonary Care published by EGC, a medical book publisher was in 1982. The first printing is divided into 11 chapters, Chapter 1 to Chapter 5 specifically explains Anatomy Physiology and Shortness of Breath as a common symptom of lung disease. Chapters 6 to 11 describe various lung diseases, including pulmonary failure, which includes Cardiopulmonary Arrest. Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome, Acute Respiratory Failure With Hypercapnoe Environmentally induced lung diseases include drowning. Toxic Gas Inhalation. Thoracic Trauma Respiratory tract diseases which include Acute Upper Obstruction Pulmonary Diseases (AUOPD) and Acute Lower Airway Diseases (Asthma Emergency) Lung parnkim diseases which include hemotysis, Wet Lung, Pulmonary Edema, and Diseases arising in pleural cavities include pneumothorax Exudative Pleuritis, while diseases arising from pulmonary blood vessels include Pulmonary Thromboembolism. The discussion in this second printing is no longer based on anatomical classification, but is based on each disease except Anatomy Physiology and Definition of Pulmonary Distress is still an introductory chapter because it is considered the basis for a better understanding of pulmonary distress.
