Pathology and intervention in musculoskeletal rehabilitation
Musculokeletal conditions have an enormous impact on society. Today,musculoskeletal conditions have become the most common cause of disability and severe long-term pain in the industrialized world. As we approach the second half of the Bone and joint Decade,it is apparent that the knowledge and skill required by the community of health care providers involved in managing the impairments and functional limitations resulting from acute or chronic musculokeletal injury/illnes have grown exponentially as the frequensy of visits to practitioners' offices for musculoskeletal system complaints has risen. The art andscience of musculoskeletal rehabilitation began as aconsequence of the injuries suffered on the battlefields of Europe during World WarI.Sincethat time,numerous textbooks have been published regarding musculoskeletal rehabilitations. These texts have encompased the areas of basic science,evaluation,and treatment.
