Handbook Klinik Keperawatan & Kebidanan
Healthcare is not always synonymous with doctors and hospitals. However, most patients consider doctors as their only “savior”. They believe that doctors can solve various health-related problems. In fact, doctors are not the only people who should be praised, because there are also other parties who also have an important role in the patient's healing process. Yes, it is the nurse, the person who always helps the doctor in treating the patient.
Nursing is an interesting profession, as nurses work on the frontlines of healthcare and are often the first point of contact between patients and doctors when addressing important medical issues.
They work closely with healthcare practitioners, including doctors and therapists. They also work closely with patients and their families, ensuring they have up-to-date information about the patient's condition.
The duties of nurses vary greatly depending on their specialization, level of qualification and where they work (such as hospitals, clinics and more). However, some of their duties may include maintaining and monitoring the patient's condition before and after surgery, administering medications, writing reports and communicating with doctors, and so on.
With such great responsibility, registered nurses can earn a substantial salary, depending on where they work. And it's also worth remembering that nurses work in a fast-paced environment, with long working hours, which can be draining on physical as well as mental stamina.
