Genetika I Struktur dan Ekspresi Gen

This book is the first volume of two volumes written under the title Genetics. The first volume is composed of nine chapters discussing the problem of Gene Structure and Expression. While the second volume with the same quantity will discuss the aspect of Gene Expression Regulation and Gene Population Aspects. This book is intended for the benefit of college students or reading material for scientists who are interested: the content is adjusted to the development of science and technology that we are currently experiencing. Biodiversity and biotechnology are terms that are often mentioned in the development of industrial science and egribusiness. In this perspective, this book is written with a molecular approach which is knowledge and techniques that are very necessary to master bioscience and biotechnology today. But of course various non-molecular approaches are still discussed according to needs including Mendel's discoveries and cytogenetics or chromosome inheritance. The first volume of the book is divided into two parts covering the Structure and Reproduction of Genetic Material and Molecular Structure and Gene Expression. For the benefit of students, at the end of each chapter, examples of practice questions are included, some of which are questions that have been tested on students. The existence of questions will provide an opportunity for students to conduct self-evaluation on their mastery of the material they are studying. As the end of this introduction, the author would like to express his gratitude to all parties, especially his wife and friends at the Genetics Laboratory who have encouraged and helped so that this book can be published. The author would also like to express the same gratitude to the Indonesian government which has funded the writing of this book through the World Bank project.
