Health and growth are things that correlate with human nutritional status. Children who grow and develop without a complete and balanced nutritional intake have the potential to cause the child to be susceptible to disease, nutritional deficiencies, laziness, and hampered physical, psychomotor and mental development. The nutrients needed by the human body can be grouped into 5 important groups, namely: Carbohydrates, proteins (amino acids), fats, vitamins and minerals.
Cases of malnutrition are one of the priority problems handled by the government. Even though from year to year there has been a decrease in the incidence of malnutrition, the incidence of malnutrition is still high when compared with other Asian countries. From this, efforts to improve community nutrition in Indonesia are one of the health efforts that are part of the national development program. This book discusses the science of nutrition, the concept of balanced nutrition, health education about nutrition, the concept of nutrition during adolescence, the concept of balanced nutrition for breastfeeding mothers, preconception, fertility, the concept of balanced nutrition for babies and toddlers, and the concept of balanced nutrition for adult and elderly women.
