This book is written to enable individuals with basic knowledge of electrocardiography to become proficient in interpreting cardiac arrhythmias. It is designed to be used by medical personnel from ICCU nurses to cardiologists. In fact, this book represents the author's firm belief that the art and knowledge of electrocardiographic interpretation should not depend on a medical degree or a certain level of clinical skills. However, the reader is considered to have mastered basic concepts and skills, such as what are P waves and QRS complexes, QRS axis determination, identification of right and left bundle branch block patterns. The book consists of 4 chapters, each covering the main groups of arrhythmias. Each chapter begins with text that discusses various arrhythmias. Each chapter begins with text that discusses the various arrhythmias with emphasis on their variations and electrocardiographic characteristics, how to distinguish them from other arrhythmias, as well as analysis methods and difficulties. In addition, clinical and electrophysiological background will be provided as required. The ECG picture is then followed. The order of appearance more or less parallels the discussion in the text.Within each arrhythmia group, ECGs are shown from simple to more complex. The more skilled reader can do a quick review of the easy ECGs and then study the more difficult and complex ones. For all but the very simplest ECGs, the interpretation includes a step-by-step analysis, so that readers will understand how a conclusion was reached.
