Biomonitoring : Proceeding Simposium Pemantauan Biologik dalam Proteksi Kesehatan Tenaga Kerja
Recently, the issue of exposure to toxic and hazardous substances (B3) has become increasingly important in Indonesia, especially in relation to the increasing industrialization process. Industrialization generally results in more intensive and diverse interactions between workers and physical biochemical factors in the work environment. As an effort to control exposure to B3, environmental management is generally pursued, namely by controlling the levels of pollutants in the air of the work environment so that they remain within safe limits for health To ensure that this is fulfilled, various environmental monitoring efforts are carried out. One other way that can be a cross-check of environmental monitoring capabilities is biologic monitoring, which measures the levels of various pollutants or their effects on the biologic system, namely the human body itself. Both of the above, namely Environmental Monitoring and Biological Monitoring are complementary to each other and if done properly will be an effective preventive measure. This book is a collection of papers and essays from a symposium held on December 3, 1994, in cooperation with the Professional Association or Expertise in Occupational Hygiene and Safety and the Ministry of Manpower of the Republic of Indonesia.
