This book is actually a revision of the book Diagnostic Standardization and Management of Several Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs) which was published in 1990. Until now, STDs have developed, especially in the field of diagnostics and management/treatment, so it is felt necessary to update the old book. The authors of this book are members of the Indonesian Sexually Transmitted Diseases Study Group (KSPMSI). Many changes have been made, both in the discussion material and its structure. This book discusses various STDs and other conditions that can be transmitted through sexual contact, such as scabies, pediculosis pubis, and molluscum contagiosum. We also include the latest Guidelines for the Management of Sexually Transmitted Diseases, compiled by the Indonesian STD Study Group together with the Directorate General of P2M-PLP, Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia. These guidelines have been approved to be implemented throughout Indonesia. Only some STDs in this book are equipped with clinical or microscopic photos, due to various difficulties in collecting documentation. We realize that this book is still imperfect, although we have tried to compile it concisely and practically. Therefore, we expect criticism and suggestions, as material for improvement for the next edition. Hopefully this book can be useful for general practitioners, specialist doctors and medical students.
