Currently, Indonesia is facing various public health problems, one of which is the HIV/AIDS epidemic where Indonesia is known as a country with a Concentrated Level Epidemic. This means that the prevalence of HIV/AIDS is quite high in certain places and sub-population groups. The whole world is very concerned and pays great attention to the HIV/AIDS epidemic. In one of the points of the UNCASS (United Nations General Assembly Special Session) declaration on HIV/AIDS in 2001 in the chapter: care. Support and treatment, it has been stated that by 2005 each country must develop and create a significant process in implementing a comprehensive care strategy to support family care and community-based care including that provided by the informal sector and health care system to provide and monitor treatment for HIV/AIDS patients including children who have been infected. In addition to providing support to individuals, households, families and communities affected by HIV/AIDS and improving the capacity and working conditions of health care workers and the effectiveness of the supply system, financial plans and linkage mechanisms needed to provide access to available medicines, including antiretroviral drugs, will also be developed. Diagnostic measures with related technologies and medical, palliative and professional services will also be developed.
