The Microbiology and Parasitology course is offered to students in the health sector, including Nursing, Midwifery, Acupuncture, Health Analysis, Pharmacy, and Medicine. To support the teaching and learning process, textbooks are essential as a reference for understanding knowledge about microbiology in the health sector.
This book is intended to help health students in general to understand the theory more easily. This textbook is divided into three main chapters, namely (1) Chapter I on the basics of microbiology. It covers an introduction, bacterial cytology, fungi, parasitology, metabolism, and control of microorganisms. (2) Chapter II contains an understanding of diseases. This covers the interaction between microorganisms and hosts, infections, pathogenicity, and various diseases caused by microorganisms, as well as an understanding of diagnostics, including the handling of examination materials and various methods of microbiological examination. (3) Chapter III discusses the application of information technology in the fields of microbiology and microtechnology. This covers molecular microgenetic engineering, recombinant processes, and transgenics.
