Maternal and child health is an important indicator in measuring the health status of a country, where the health status of mothers and children can be seen from maternal mortality rates. Competent health workers are needed to detect, treat and refer cases of maternal and neonatal emergencies. Therefore, there is a need for a common perception and understanding from all parties regarding the importance and role of these various aspects in addressing maternal mortality so that the strategy to overcome it must be a comprehensive integration of various aspects. There are many diseases and disorders in pregnancy that threaten the safety of mothers and their babies. Obstetric emergencies are obstetric cases that if not treated immediately will result in the death of the mother and foetus. This case is the main cause of maternal fetal and newborn death (Saifuddin, 2002). Emergency problems during pregnancy can be caused by specific pregnancy complications or concurrent medical or surgical illnesses.
